Law North provides a broad range of legal services across the Far North district from our base in Kerikeri. We have operated in the area for over 100 years and have a long-standing history of providing legal services to a diverse client base, including businesses and private clients. We are committed to the Far North, often calling upon our strong local knowledge and history to resolve issues for clients whilst remaining vigilant about client confidentiality.

If you like a bit of history .... read on! Law North started trading under that name in 1990 after an amalgamation of two Northland firms - McBrearty, Dodds & Dominick and Pegg, Ayton, Gordon. Both these firms trace their origins in Northland back to the very early 1900s and over the years have had a presence in many Northland towns. McBrearty, Dodds & Dominick were based in Kaikohe, with a branch in Paihia, but started their days in Kawakawa and Kohukohu. Pegg, Ayton, Gordon had orginated in Dargaville with a branch in Ruawai. It subsequently established a Kerikeri office and for a time, had a branch in Russell. From those firms Dennis McBrearty, Simon Dominick and Richard Ayton remain as Directors of Law North today.

The establishment of Law North in Kerikeri was a recognition by both firms that the future of commercial activity in the Mid and Far North lay in Kerikeri. The further growth of the town in the last 30 years has proved that decision a wise one.

IN OUR COMMUNITY
Law North has been part of the Northland community for over 100 years. Over that time it has enjoyed a long history of supporting many local organisations through various sponsorship's.

We are regularly approached by groups in the community for sponsorship, all of which have worthwhile causes. With the growth of the community and the increase in the number of potential recipients, it is simply not possible to sponsor them all. Therefore, we have developed a policy to dedicate our sponsorship budget to a few key organisations.

Law North has long-held sponsorship arrangements with the Community Fitness gym facility in Fairway Drive, Kerikeri and we also continue to provide support for school leavers in local secondary schools who are going on to study law.
