Court Cases – Civil Litigation
Civil litigation (a rather legal term but there is no other suitable description) is a dispute that is not covered by Family, Criminal or Environment Courts.
Almost any dispute can become the subject of civil litigation. The more common disputes involve contracts, buildings, land, leases, business partnerships, insurance issues and disputes over wills and deceased estates.
Although there are alternatives to such as alternative dispute resolution or in some cases arbitration or mediation, many disputes end up in court.
Starting a court case or defending a claim is a major problem for any client and the problems need to be discussed in detail at the start. The various options need to be considered most importantly whether court action can be avoided in view of the time and cost involved.
Our lawyers involved in civil litigation are experienced in dealing with all of the issues and will be constantly monitoring the dispute to see if there is any way of bringing it to an early conclusion by negotiation.
We are experienced in both alternative dispute resolution and the court process. You should contact Jo Baguley in our firm if you have a dispute.
