Community Support in 2008
Law North has operated in Northland for over 100 years. During this time, it has contributed every year to community organisations via sponsorship and support arrangements. Identifying recipients has always been an issue, as almost everyone who approaches us has a great cause to support.
With the growth of the area, it has become increasingly difficult to decide between worthwhile causes. It has been decided that from 2008, our sponsorship and community support arrangements will be limited to major sponsorship of the Bay of Islands SPCA and the Cancer Society via the Daffodil Day appeal. This unfortunately means that we are not in a position to consider further requests for sponsorship.
We will continue to provide financial support for appropriate school leavers in the local secondary schools who are going on to study law. This scheme has been operating for 15 years with considerable success. We also have a long term sponsorship arrangement with the Kerikeri Area Sport and Recreational Trust – Community Fitness (the community gym facility in Fairway Drive).
Law North appreciates the support the community gives it and feels obliged to make a return to the community and trusts the community understands the reasons for this change in the direction of our sponsorship.
